This little light

I believe an inner person is comprised of four parts: a mind, a heart, a soul, and a spirit. The mind controls thoughts, the heart controls passions, the soul controls one's actions and spirituality, and the spirit is the spark of life which is essentially the same for all. These three pieces and the spark create who a person is.
Now, some people say a person is either all evil, or all good. To them, a person deep down will always follow the one persuasion, evil or good, no matter what random opposite actions they do. Because, at least looking at my components, the soul will always rely on the mind and heart. So if deep down in a person, their passions and thoughts are always evil, their soul will follow suit and be essentially evil, thus causing their actions to be evil. However, I think these people combine the spirit and soul together.

For me, the spirit is the spark of life given by God. It is found in everything that lives. It is pure "good", and lives seperate of the mind, heart and soul. However, at the same time, all things rely on the spirit. Which means, at birth, we are good, pure "good", and our thoughts, passions and actions are all good. God knows our passions, our thoughts, our actions. All these things are fed by the spirit, are lit by the constant glow of humanness. You know how people say they can see a spark or twinkle of life or light in a person's eyes? That's the spirit. A constant glow of humanness and God's love within us, the little light of ours' that we need to let shine. We all have this light, this spark, given by God. Kind of cool, huh? But sometimes, things happen, and the flame flickers, the light is almost extinguished, and without that reminder, the mind and heart and soul can forget, and so thoughts and passions and actions might not be as pure, as good as they once were. This is where someone might scream "They're evil!" But, are they? That good spark is still there, God's love is still present in them. The spirit, I believe can never be gotten rid of. It can become dim, can constantly flicker, but that bit of God and humanness can never leave a person while they live. So people will always be good way, way down deep inside. Their mind, or heart, and or actions might be evil, but as long as they are alive and human, a person will always be partially good. We just need to let our light shine, and nourish the lights of others."This little light of mine, I'm goin'-a let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine..."
